STRICTLY POSITIVE

Happy Friday, y'all. Here's hoping this finds you all floating above the morass and what follows is just gravy on your happy cake. But if you need a little perk, maybe something below will help.

Exhibit A: Starting the day off with a little inter-species love, one of my favorite things. This is the story of Guero the rescued lion and his new friend squirrel (which actually looks more like a chipmunk, but who's counting?)(Thanks to Cathy for bringing my attention to this bit of lovely)

Exhibit B: Sisters. What're you gonna do with 'em?

Exhibit C:  Every day for FIVE YEARS, this amazing artist has created a super cool mini diorama. Below are some examples, click the link for the full article and lots more photos of his work.

Exhibit D: Skipping over the part about this woman getting rid of her horse in the first place (not in her shoes, trying not to be judgey), this is a really cool video of three horses being reunited after several years apart:

Exhibit E: Lots of videos today, but that's just the way the cookie crumbled. This video was shared to my timeline by my friend Bev, and I wasn't really sure why when I saw it was a video from church. (Bev knows I'm a heathen). But this is a great one from the 'expect the unexpected' files. Plus this song always gives me chills.

About Malcolm Avenue Review

I was lucky enough to be born and raised in a nifty, oak-shaded ranch house on Malcolm Avenue, a wide-laned residential street with little through traffic, located amid the foothills of Northern California. It was on that street and in that house I learned most of my adolescent life lessons, and many grown-up ones to boot. Malcolm Avenue was "home" for more than thirty years.

It was on Malcolm Avenue, through and with my family and the other families that made up our neighborhood of characters, that I first learned about and gained an appreciation for the things I continue to love the most to this day: music, animals, photography, sports, television/movies and, of course, books.

I owe a debt of gratitude to that life on Malcolm Avenue. It gave me a sense of community and friendship, support and adventure. For better and worse, life on that street likely had the biggest impact on the person I've become. So this blog, and the things I write here, are all, at their base level, a little bit of a love letter to Malcolm Avenue.
